Two suspects were charged with beating a wrecker driver who booted a car early Sunday at Raiders Ridge Apartments, Murfreesboro Police reported.
Victim Jacob Haynes, 23,of Camo Towing was treated for multiple injuries at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, Officer Bryan Anderson reported.
Suspects Robert Anthony Umstead, 20, and Nicole Wooley, 20, both of Vintage Park Apartments on Barfield-Crescent Road were charged with aggravated assault by Officer Brandon Benge.
Anderson reported Haynes booted a vehicle at the complex on Wenlon Drive when suspects later identified as Umstead and Wooley confronted him.
Haynes accused Umstead of punching him in the left side of his face while he sat in his tow truck doing paperwork, the officer reported. Also, Haynes accused Wooley of punching him in the face. Haynes called 911.
Witnesses told police where the suspects were located. They were identified by Haynes and charged with aggravated assault.
The suspects were booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center where a hearing was set Nov. 12 in General Sessions Court.
Umstead is unemployed. Wooley is a nurse at the York VA Medical Center.
