Definition Of A Bad Monday

Fire destroys FL tow truck... Here's the story from First Coast News:
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A wrecker truck owned by a local auto repair shop was destroyed by fire on Arlington Expressway Monday night.

The driver of the wrecker saw smoke and sparks coming from under the hood while traveling west on Arlington Expressway and was able to get on the service road and stop. The driver says he and a passenger opened the hood, saw the battery was on fire and called 911.

Before firefighters arrived the man said the fire grew significantly.

First Coast News was at the scene just before a Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department rescue unit arrived.

A fire extinguisher was used and was able to reduce the flames before the extinguisher ran out. In the end, a JFRD engine put out the fire, but the entire truck was already destroyed.

The driver told First Coast News he was frustrated, as it was a thirty-thousand dollar truck gone up in flames.

The fire blocked the service road, and traffic slowed on Arlington Expressway because of motorists slowing to see the fire.
